Charitable Organizations

AnyBody Argentina:
AnyBody Argentina is proud to be part of the larger global movement Endangered Bodies (, currently comprised of seven other cities around the globe, all committed to challenging the toxic culture that teaches us to hate our own bodies.
AnyBody Argentina, based out of Buenos Aires since 2010, is committed to transforming the current visual culture and society into one that includes a wide diversity of bodies. A primary focus of our work has involved promoting size law compliance, so that the majority of Argentines (with a focus on teens and women) are able to purchase fashionable clothes with ease, without having to face size prejudice. We also run regular awareness campaigns that highlight the importance of diversity.
We are completely volunteer-run and are always looking for passionate people to join our growing movement. If you are interested in becoming involved, please send along your CV to
Look forward to hearing from you!

Founder and Director

Send a Child to School is an all volunteer organization that was started by BAIN members in 1995. Today SACS provides individualized backpacks for underprivileged children in Greater Buenos Aires area so that they may begin their school year in March prepared and eager to learn. Volunteers help fill the backpacks and then they are delivered directly to the children. Fund raising is accomplished through various events, raffles and gratefully accepted corporate and personal donations.
For more information, please visit: and look for us on Facebook!

Founded in 1987, ADEA is Association of Spouses of Accredited Ambassadors in Argentina, a legally registered non-profit organization one of whose main objectives is to support Argentine charities through fund-raising events held throughout the year. The ADEA Charity Committee meets monthly to consider and evaluate requests. Donations have included dialysis equipment, pediatric wheel chairs, kitchen and dining equipment, musical instruments for a children’s orchestra, re-editing of an HIV-prevention pamphlet, and printing of books regarding cancer support issues.

Child Activities

Location: Inside the Museo Evita, Palermo, Lafinur 2988
Kindermusik class is taught by independent teachers, so you need to be cautious with which classes you seek out, but Alcira is a great instructor (she speaks perfect English though the class is conducted in Spanish). The classes focus on music and dance for children 0-5 years old (separated by age). They offer sign up for monthly classes, one class per week, for AR$400 per month. There is a one time inscription fee that changes yearly, though you are able to attend a trail class before committing to the monthly fee. The classes run on a semester schedule.

Location: Instituto Cambridge, Recoleta, Tucumán 1483
There is also a Kindermusik location in Recoleta, taught within the Cambridge Institute.  The instructors speak English, though the class is taught in Spanish. The classroom is smaller, though clean and still quite nice, and the fees are around 50% of the Palermo location.

Ocampo Wellness Club Swim Lessons:
Location: Palermo, Ortiz de Ocampo 3250
Phone: 4802-8877 / 4803-2963

Ocampo Wellness Club is a fully functional gym with an indoor pool where you can sign up separately for swim lessons. They offer “Mommy & Me” classes for baby’s 6 months – 2 years and solo classes for kids 2 – 12 years. Their indoor pool is great for little ones since they have a super shallow end for little ones to practice standing. You can choose 1, 2 or 3 classes per week from AR$290, AR$370, or AR$450 per month. They also offer prenatal swim classes for expecting mamas.

Museo de los Niños:
Location: Shopping Abasto, Av. Corrientes 3247, Nivel 2
Phone: (054-11) 4861-2325
The Museo de los Niños is a children’s museum located in the second level of the Abasto shopping mall. It is open from 1pm – 8pm Tuesday through Sunday and has a special calendar available on their website to discuss their hours on holidays. Children 2 and under are free, as are teachers (when you provide a pay stub and DNI) and people over the age of 65. For kids 2 – 17 tickets are AR$50 each, and adults are AR$20. Also, using your DNI as proof, the entrance fee is waved on your birthday.

El Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales:
Location: Located behind the Recoleta Cultural Center, Junin 1930 y Quintana
An interactive science museum ideal for children 4 years old and up.  Their motto “Prohibido no tocar” (it’s forbidden not to touch) makes this museum great for any toddling little ones, though under the age of 4 they are probably not understanding a whole lot of the science part.  As of 2013, the entrance fee is AR$25 for anyone over the age of 4.
Hours: 10am – 5pm, Tues -Fri; 3:30pm – 7:30pm, Sat & Sun, closed Mondays.

Bioparque Temaiken:
Location: Ruta 25, Km. 1, Escobar, Provincia de Buenos Aires
Phone: (03488) 43-6900
A great day trip for kids of almost any age.

Zoologico Palermo:
Location: Av Las Heras and Sarmiento (main entrance located at Plaza Italia)
Phone: 4011-9900
This zoo is open Tuesday – Sunday from 10am – 6pm. General admission is AR$25, or AR$40 if you choose the “passporte ahorro” that includes the reptile and aquarium areas and a ride on their little boat attraction.

A great bike mechanic: It’s a small place, run by the owner, which means you talk to the actual person who will be repairing your bike – unlike in the big shops, where the counter staff doesn’t always pass along all of the information. This guy is quite reasonably priced, much faster than the other shops, but most importantly, goes above and beyond. This mechanic often fixes extra little things on his own initiative, without being asked to, and then doesn’t charge for these extras!

We can meet clients/tourists at their hotel or any other place convenient, and also accompany them or their groups if required for i.e. change money, city tour, any other special events like milongas, tango shows etc.

The World Designs, Ltd. Series:
The first book of the series, The Kámen, takes place in Czechoslovakia, amid the chaotic 1990 aftermath of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The second book, The Long Way Home, traces a long and perilous chase across the Netherlands and Belgium.
A third volume, To Hold a Rainbow, is set in 1990 Argentina. This time two brothers from Colombia take on a drug lord in Misiones Province, at the borders of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay.
And number four, A Land Without Morning, takes place in Afghanistan, again pitting the World Designs Ltd. operatives against the Kabul drug trafficking cartel. This book is scheduled for release in 2013.

I very highly recommend the services of Iris Pintura for any kind of indoor or outdoor paint job, renovation or light construction. These guys are honest and very detail oriented. So far they have a 100% costumes satisfaction rate and that is because they don’t play any of the games of hussles. What ever the size of the project, it will be completed on time and on budget and done to the highest standard. I started working for these guys exactly because of their philosophy, a real old school good business sense which is so rare to find here in Buenos Aires. I encourage you to read the story of how Iris Pintura came to be at; in itself it is a very heart warming tale so rarely heard in this world. If you are considering a project you may want to read our manifesto as well at It does not matter if its a small reconstruction or if you are an architect or a real estate developer, we work on every scale.
