The venue for the party is Pur Sang. This stately French-style residence was built in 1904 in the heart of the charming neighborhood of La Recoleta.  Pur Sang is currently owned by the Cooperative Association of Thoroughbred Breeders, Ltd.  The name, Pur Sang, comes from Pura Sangre.  In English, Pure Blood.

Support Our 10K Runners!

If you’re looking for a reason to leave the house this Sunday morning, come and cheer on the BAIN Members that will be running in the 4th Annual Maraton AmCham!  There is a competitive 10K and a participative 3K, but there will be music, excitement and fun for anyone who is interested in enjoying the fresh air!

Museum Night 2012 – La Noche de los Museos 2012

Museum Night 2012 – La Noche de los Museos 2012

The Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires presents the 9th Edition of La Noche de los Museos – Museum Night 2012, that will take place on November 10, 2012, from 8 PM until 3 AM.

Since 2004 one Saturday night the museums of Buenos Aires stay open all night offering different cultural activities, all of them free of charge, in the same way as in other 130 cities around the world.

During this special night visitors will be able to enjoy free guided visits, special exhibitions, as well as conferences, shows, theater performances, dance, screenings, video, multimedia, and diverse concerts of classical music, jazz, tango, folk, and rock, and move around the city on more than 80 bus lines that will offer free rides during the night.

 

In this new edition, the Museum Nights pays tribute to the great Argentine tango composer/musician Astor Piazzolla in the 20th anniversary of his death.

 

Some of the main events of the evening will take place at the Planetarium Galileo Galilei, Av. Figueroa Alcorta and Av. Sarmiento:

 

8:30 pm: The contemporary ballet of Teatro San Martin presents “Las 8 estaciones” (The 8 seasons), with music from “Las cuatro estaciones porteñas”, by Astor Piazzolla, and Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons”.

9:15 pm: Documentary on Astor Piazzolla

11:00 pm: Quintet from Astor Piazzolla Foundation

00:15 am: Escalandrum and Piazzolla Electrónica

1:00 am: Documentary on Astor Piazzolla

 

Over 180 museums and art spaces will be participating in this edition.
