Monthly Luncheon — Cucina Italiano — 12:30 Thursday, March 22

Date: Thursday, March 22, 2018

Time: 12:30 pm

Please RSVP to

mweldon213@yahoo.com

Phone   4815-4660

Tucked away on Talcahuano, behind the main court houses, is a little spot on the first floor with absolutely no signage. Since we dined there in August of 2017 it has been “discovered”. The clientele currently are the legal professionals from the neighborhood but it is now always full! The genius behind the food may be familiar to some of you from a previous spot where he got rave reviews as the head chef. Now, Salvatore has brought his two brothers from Italy to help out with the new venture. Everything is made on the premises or brought here from Italy!

The space itself is fairly small but does have a private room that can accommodate 20 people, that is where we will be having lunch. An early RSVP is recommended. Please note the time -12:30- this will allow us to get our orders in before the place fills up.

The menu will include pasta, of course, and other standard Italian choices. The 350 peso price includes your main course, dessert or coffee (I, as always, will be ordering the home-made Tiramisu) and beverage choice – wine or water, plus the tip.

Tour of Montserrat – Walk 1 — Avenida de Mayo – February 18 at 11 am

Monserrat and San Telmo are the most historical neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. Yet Monserrat is less well-known and is often confused with San Telmo, even though it is the location of the most important buildings in the city – buildings where many national and local decisions are made.

Montserrat may be small but it has a lot of history in its streets and venues.  For this reason, we have decided to visit it twice, on two different walks.

Please join us for this first tour of the year.  Walk with us along Montserrat´s most important avenue: Avenida de Mayo. We will also talk about Plaza de Mayo and Plaza del Congreso.  In addition, we will visit the Casa de la Cultura Building (formerly the Diario La Prensa).
