Halloween in the City!

Thank you to DaVe at Discover Buenos Aires for this post on a Halloween celebration in capital for children!

While Halloween continues to grow in popularity in Buenos Aires, trick-or-treating has not yet really caught on. That leaves the expat community to organize their own Halloween Trick-or-Treat Party for Kids, and we’re happy to be a part of it!

This year, we’ll be meeting in a Palermo park on Thursday, October 31, 2013, at 6:30pm, with the little ones dressed up and ready to trick-or-treat! Please plan to bring:

  • your children (12 and under) dressed up and with a small basket or bag to collect their treats
  • a bag of candies, stickers, etc to hand out to the other children. Please plan for 20-30 kids and we’ll try and send an estimate just before the event.
  • a small table, chair or blanket from which to shell out

Festive decor also welcomed (but please remember that you are responsible for taking home whatever you bring into the park, when you leave at the end of the event).

RSVP by sending an email to halloween@discoverbuenosaires.com with the age(s) of your children and we’ll send over full details of the event and exactly where we’re meeting.

Hope to see you there!

BAIN DOWNTOWN MONTHLY MEETING — October 25!

Join us at the October Monthly Meeting!  We have read your suggestions through the member survey and have a few changes to the meeting this month, starting with the meeting beginning later in the afternoon — at 5:30pm.

The program this month is brought to us by our own Solange and Mike Mecham who will discuss the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage originating from various points in Europe, ending in Santiago de Compostela. These two made the pilgrimage this year and will explain the reasons for doing so and what they learned along the way.

As always, we’ll be socializing over baked goods from Sugar and Spice and Malbec for  those interested in starting their happy hour right at the meeting!

We also have a new venue for the post-meeting Happy Hour! The lovely Hotel Pulitzer Sky Bar Terrace is the meeting place to continue the fun!

We hope to see lots of new faces as we learn new things about the world and each other.  We hope you’ll come out and join us!
